The mission of the North Carolina Division of Workforce Solutions (DWS) is to develop North Carolina's Workforce talent, help individuals advance their career opportunities, and meet business Workforce needs by connecting talent to jobs. I provide individualized career services (intensive services) and facilitate job placement to veterans with Significant Barriers to Employment (SBE), using the case management approach. I perform outreach services to the employer community while planning and participating in job fairs and career fairs, informing federal contractors of the process to recruit qualified veterans, and to advocate for the recruitment and training of veterans.
Veterans Treatment Court providing eligible New Hanover County veterans with the option or treatment instead of incarceration. Eligible veterans receive intensive case management, connections to resources such as; VA CBOC, New Hanover County Veteran Service Office, NCWorks, and an array of other resources while navigating the criminal justice system.
Our office provides a wide range of services to the Veteran and their family members. We serve all veterans, spouses, widows, and children of veterans residing in Pender County with all Veterans Administration matters. If you are interested in applying for VA benefits or need assistance with VA paperwork, please contact our office to schedule an appointment. A Veteran Service Officer (VSO) will meet with you to answer any questions you have about your benefit eligibility. We will then help you submit any paperwork and assist with gathering any necessary documentation and evidence to support your claim.
Veterans Services of the Carolinas operates the Unite US database which connects our clients to various resources that they need in their respective county that they reside in. We connect our clients with providers that they may not have utilized previously to receive the assistance that they're in need of.
For very low-income Veterans, SSVF provides case management and supportive services to prevent the imminent loss of a Veteran's home or identify a new, more suitable housing situation for the individual and his or her family; or to rapidly re-house Veterans and their families who are homeless and might remain homeless without this assistance.
Brunswick County Veterans Services is a county government office, provided to inform and assist Brunswick County Veterans and their eligible family members in applying for veterans benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs and other agencies. Applicants must be residents of Brunswick County to receive assistance and should call the office to schedule an appointment to see a Service Officer.
